Minori Hayashi

Born 2005. He is based in Osaka, Japan, with roots in Brazil and a sense of multiple cultural backgrounds.
He was born with a very low birth weight and was born with poor and blurred vision, constantly seeing a world with ambiguous contours.
Using this experience as a starting point, he focuses on the momentary gestures and movements of people living in cities, capturing the physicality and emotional swings that emerge in everyday life.
He continues to photograph through encounters with people living in diverse cultures and environments while travelling at home and abroad, developing a visual expression that makes use of bold compositions and blurred images.
He captures in his photographs the fluctuations in perception that arise from the difficulty of seeing, and focuses on changes in the air and the margins of the gaze rather than clear-cut narratives.
Through the uncertainty of vision, he creates works that continue to question the meaning of seeing itself.
